Hello, I have some experience of programming in Overlays on the meridian switch but have traditional always struggled on the understanding of loop and truncks. Can someone explain to be what loops are?

When a call enters the meridian switch it hits a loop? and then a channel on the loop? How do I find out which loop the call has come in on and is there any way of me carrying out a stat on a loop to see what state there are in.
I would extremly grateful for any help.

Thanks

There are a few ways you can trace calls... here's my advice:

If you know the Trunk Route Access Code (ACCD) you can use LD80 to TRAC an entire trunk route. That will tell you the status of all trunks in a route, even if they are on more than one loop.

You can also trace on digital channel if you know it - "TRAD 2 1" will trace Loop 2, channel 1.

LD60 is used to stat digital trunk loops. Just "STAT 3" for example will show the status of all channels on loop 3.
