Could someone try to explain the relationship between a Superloop and a loop. For example does a superloop feed serveral loops or do they exist in isolation to each other?

Many thanks

loops are a thing of the past.. they are all superloops if they can hold 16 cards..

Loops were 8 now 16 as JP said. Also think of engineering and talk slots. Super loop is 4 loops, that is why you NET slots in the Network shelves take up two slots, multiple of 4 NET card Superloop 4 is really loop 4 5 6 and 7. Thus your next slot is 8, which could be 8 9 10 11 for Super loop 8 or 2 dual PRIs that are 8 9 10 and 11.

Loops represent time slots that allows the peripheral equipment to talk to the common equipment. Each slot in a network shelf represents two loops, an odd and an even one. One loop has 32 time slots. 30 is used for voice and 2 for signalling. A superloop is 4 loops combined giving a total of 128 timeslots. Only 120 is available for voice and the rest is signalling. Because one slot in a core/net module represents 2 loops, two slots represents one superloop.
