Looping voicemail

Hello all,

We use an IP 403 in our main office and Voicemail Pro.

I want to make a "dummy" extension, that users can call for information on the network or system(scheduled maintenance, known issues, etc.).

I have the extension setup, but I want the greeting I record to repeat and not allow the user to leave a voicemail message.

I thought that saving the message as a loop(option 4) would work but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

If I'm way off base perhaps someone can readjust my thinking on this(grin).

Thanks in advance.

- Mike

Make it easier on yourself.
Create DID, or menu to get the call to VMPro.
Just have a generic option that connects to itself with the entry prompt as the message.
This will have the loop effect.

Sorry if I seem dense as a post.

I am fairly familiar with IP Office Manager, but not much with VMPro, so I'm not really following you.

Could you give me a bit more detail as to how to do this?

Thanks.

Hi Again,

Perhaps I'm not as dense as I thought - I figured it out from reading your reply and looking at the program.

Thanks again,

- Mike

Well, I guess I'm half dense.

I got it to work, but I seem to have no way to change what is on the voicemail(pressing 8 to change it like you would with another voicemail doesn't work).

Is there any simple way to change the message from any phone?

Thanks,

Mike

You could also click on the generic action and click the entry prompt tab. If you have a later release of VM Pro, it will allow you to choose to record via the handset.
