New to the forums, new to Flash 8, but basically what I'm trying to do is take a video (I have .avi or .flv version of it) and have it autoplay, autorepeat. I have the video setup so the end looks like the beginning. But theres a half second black screen pause before it starts over, I've searched all over google, now decided to turn to the forums.

I DID find one way, but it involved using the 'Import to library' function instead of the 'Import movie' function, but whenever i would Export, the swf file would be small with no video in it, and it seems like the swf is looking for the video in a location, so when the SWF loads in firefox, a popup would come up about it connecting to a webserver, asking to change settings, etc. that's no good.
IF I use 'Import to library' and select Embed whole movie (with either avi or flv) nothing shows up on the work place. The code i found that made it do that doesn't work when i use import video, it says current selection cannot have actions applied to it

so what i need is the video embedded into the SWF and on repeat without the pause at the end back to the beginning

When you do File > Import > Import Video..., choose "Embed video in SWF..." option and then set the "Symbol type" to "Movie clip". This will create a MovieClip with the video embedded in its timeline. You don't need to do anything else, as MovieClips with no Actions will just loops forever.
