Hello all

I am having a looping logon issue, (No surprise IMHO) with CE8

I have been through the doc ce8_looping_logon.pdf to no avail.

In one place, it recommends to run the pageserver as a console app for troubleshooting purposes. I have done that, and with the pageserver running as a console app, the looping login is corrected. Lovely, but....

My question is this: What does this mean? How do I fix it? I can run pageserver as console app forever....

cheers in advance

Tracey

I had to do that exact same thing to get my oracle logons to work correctly in CE8. I ran it as an app for over a year... it wasn't pretty but it worked. Oh, we added a script to start it on reboot. I didn't have any particular problems with it other than it was easy for one of our admins not paying attention to shut it off.

Hi,
Did you try running the pageserver as a service but
running under an account that has access to the Oracle server?

The problem was related to that server being a BDC (backup domain controller). That caused enterprise to not send authentication information correctly. After dealing with me for a month they decided not to support BDC's any more :).

I remember when I first started using crystal I had to run the pageserver as a process then (I cant remember what the issue was but it was solved with a new version OS and new version Crystal)

I just get very jumpy at the thought of my webserver being logged in perminantly...

I dont think the BDC issue is relative to me as the machine is a standalone win2000pro machine running apache 2.0.48. More like my problems are caused by crystal/apache combo [hairpull2]

If its any consolation.. all my problems went away with a new version and a new server... just minor details.. lol
