We have two cisco 2611 routers having WIC-2AS WAN modules.

I have to be sure that these serial WAN ports work well.

Is it possible to connect these two router via a DTE and DCE cables?

What kind of commands should i issue?

I hear that the 26xx series routers can't produce clock signal. Thus, I can't perform such a test.
is this correct?

tanerdursun,
There should be no problem connecting the 2611 back-to-back via serial. You just need to get the cabling/clocking combination correct. The DCE end is used for the clocking, so you set the clockrate on the router which the DCE plugs into. A basic serial config would be:

RouterA (DTE)
interface serial0/0
ip address <xxxx>
no shutdown

RouterB (DCE)
interface serial0/0
ip address <xxxxx>
clockrate 2000000
no shutdown

Make sure you active the interface usig the "no shutdown" command. Its sounds simple, but many people overlook this command. If you're still having problems, try swapping the cable ends around (sometimes they are not labelled correctly).
