I have a Question
Why we are creating LOOPBACK ADDRESS ON ROUTER ??
wHAT IS THE Purpose behind that ?
i know that loopback is for checking TCP STACK instaleed properly or not..
but what is its job on cisco routers ?
pls reply me
thanx

Well...

1: Source address for logging
2: key interface to use for OSPF to avoid route flapping
3: Administrative address

Just to name a few, Any time spend googling( is googling a real verb?) will help fill in the blanks

Loopback addressing is also nice for terminating point to mulitipoint connections and for sourcing tunnel interfaces.
