Can you use an LS/DS card in a CICS for a DID? Have the CO send 4 digits and then route to the correct extension by using a target number?

I vaguely remember a small community answering service doing this and terminating on a M7324 and a CAP module.

thanks!

Curlycord: does the MICS DID card not work on a CICS? Just curious?

I have never done DID's on a CICS and will presume they do not work.
You have for DID's:
PRI (DTI card)
Copper (DID card)
BRI (BRI card) for CICS

Lines can't be set to DID on a CICS, only Loop or BRI. Looking at the installation manual you can program Target Lines with your received digits. If you set the lines to Auto Answer it possibly might work, but I've never tried it that way. Your DID trunks would need to be Loop Start and I don't know if that's even available as they're usually Wink Start.

Thank you for all the replies. Further enquiry into the answering service I referred to leads me to believe the incoming lines are centrex. It must be set up to send the 4 digits that are then set to appear & ring on the target lines. I'm hoping to get a site visit and just see what is there for equipment.
