A lengthy post - apologies...
I am a consultant and have a job database in Acc2002. It was created before I had OL2002. There are 5 fields each with its own category for which I used lookup wizards to link to the various parties involved (ie companies, person, phone etc). I was a VBA newbie then and had trouble coding for them from one single table (then linked to ACT!). I thus ended up creating 5 separate tables (one for each category) each with primary key IDs, names, phone etc.
I have coded enough to create new e-mails, populate Word documents and Excel sheets using data from recordsets.
Now I have OL2002 I am maintaining 5 separate tables in Access and, duplicating much of the same data into OL. Clearly a waste of time and effort when trying to use all the functionality of OL!
The nub of my query - is it possible to have all the functionality of lookups, being able to adding new contacts and edit them (as if to an Acc table) using a link to OL? I don't have Exchange. I have used the wizard to link to a contacts folder but can't get the lookup wizards to work as there is no primary key ID.
Is there a way forward for me?
Neil
