I have built multiple lookup tables attached to a main table. I want to alphabetize the records in the lookup tables, but since the records are already there and the tables are setup with autonumbers, it won't take my changes. I've sorted the fields alphabetically, but the form won't update with the changes.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi

You need to define new columns to hold the new alpha keys, then write yourself som update queries to populate the new columns, amd the relationship(s) between the table(s) to use the new columns, then delete the old columns Regards

Thanks for the advice - I'll use it. One additional question - what about adding new records to the tables? Will I have to create new columns every time I update the table?

Thanks!!

Try this:

Set the recordsource for the form to:

SELECT * FROM Table ORDER BY [AlphaField];
