I want to be able to use the lookup ini to update various fields when a new record is created BUT only when flagged as a duplicate in the create new record form within goldmine.

Is this possible ?

Also is it possible to make a lookup ini specific to a dbase - so each dbase could potentially have a different file ?

Many Thanks

Hi

I don't belive that this is possible as GoldMine does not record that a record was a duplicate - once it has prompted that a record is a potential duplicate and this is accepted then it will just create the record, equal to any other.

All I can suggest is that you have a field, an Ext field for example, and the user enter something into this field when completing the rest of the record. The lookup.ini file will then be triggered by that.

As for different lookup.ini files for different databases then I afraid you would need separate installations, however there is no reason why you couln't, as you can set each installaiton to use the sam GMBase folder.

However it is probably more hassle than its worth, as there would be a licencing issue as you would have to create site licences for each installation, and thereby reducing your licencing count for each installation. Not to mention the nightmare of different user files etc!
