I have a spreadsheet that has a "main category" and a "sub category" and the sub categories "totals", I have another spreadsheet that has the a "main category" and a "sub category". How can i match the two and get the sub categories total from the first spreadsheet to the next?

I first thought vlookup but it doesn't appear that it can look up or match multiple fields. I also looked at INDEX and MATCH but cant seem to get it to work. Any ideas or examples?

Thanks!

Paul

Thanks Skip, I literally just figured it out. Not sure if this will help anyone with the same problem but the formula i used was:

{=INDEX(B400:D409,MATCH(B109&C109,B400:B409&C400:C409,0),3)}
