I have created this page:

and the css is here

When I print preview this page, the first picture on the page doesn't print (except for the first page). It looked really crappy before I added the page breaks for print. All of the pages in the lighting folder do this. (I haven't upgraded my other pages yet)

What am I missing ?

Thanks,
Laura

To be fair, it looks pretty horrible on the screen too.

If you must use images for text in your menu and titles (though it's rarely a good idea at the best of times), at least put in some alt text for blind people and search engines and anti-alias them so they don't look so blocky.

There's an awful lot of cruft in your markup - single cell tables, <font> elements, snippets of javascript aimed at long dead browsers. I suggest you start by pruning that back, adding a DOCTYPE and getting the page to validate.

If you still have problems printing, that'll be the time to fix them.

I think we also have to ask:

1. What is it that you consider "the first" picture. Technically speaking, that would be the menu. I suppose it does not fit the width of the paper and it gets cut off? Or it doesn't get printed at all?

2. And where are you seeing this problem? I had no problems seeing all the pictures in print preview in both FF and IE7.

3. Finally, why do you think your users would care about printing your menu. They won't be clicking on the printed piece of paper.

Alright, you guys always bring back to earth. I was going to clean up the images later but I guess I'll figure out a way to do it without the images in the link bar (I just dont care for the look of text link bars).

The first picture I'm talking about is the 85-brz-508 (the 2nd row of product pictures). The details below it print previews but the pic itself doesn't (in ff but all I get is the first line of pics in ie 7). I don't particularly want the menu to print I just haven't taken the time to tell it not to.

Chris what do you mean by single cell tables, I didn't think I had any tables on this page ? I have validated the page now and it still doesn't look right in print preview.

John, are you saying I should ditch frontpage. I don't care for it but I wouldn't blame anything (in my code) on it either I tend to work in split mode. So I don't know what it did and what I have done. I am just learning html and everytime I post something here I find out I have a LOT more to learn.

Thanks

I guess I have made some progress they all show up in print preview just not in the same rows that they do on screen. Is that because of something in my css?

Thanks,
Laura

And just an fyi - in IE6, only the first page prints.

I guess most designers have given up on FrontPage these days. The main problem with the MS wysiwyg web design programs is that they tend to churn out stuff that only works in IE. If you have to correct the code afterwards for other browsers you may as well write in a simple editor. You can just use notepad, but there are a number of open-source editors that come with syntax-highlighting tools for HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP etc. I use Programmers Notepad from , but there are loads of others.

As you are using a dynamic layout for screen, it may be worthwhile using a different selector for your print CSS. Have a look at
