looking to get goldmine accountno into crystal

looking to find a dll or a dde linking method to get the record that is currently open in GoldMine into the Crystal report writer. I want to create a report for the current record only.
how do i get it without asking for the GM accountno ( which is long and hard to type at times. also hidden from the normall gm user)
i have a dll currently but it sometimes doesn't work for the gm version 6.5 and crystal 8.5
