I have a db with ~3000 records in FMP 7 (Mac), and I have an image library that will give me an image for a container field in each record. The filename for each image corresponds to a field in the record (<<object_number>>.jpg), and I want to create a script that will insert the image with the correct filename into a given record.

FMP help doesn't point me anywhere, and trying to put a reference in square or angled brackets, or parentheses, or anything else I could think of intuitively hasn't worked.

Is there a way to do this within FMP, and if not, is there a way to rig this up in, say, Excel, and have FMP import the containers?

Many thanks for any help.

problem solved:

-calculation field: img_name= object_name&".jpg"
-import folder of images into container, matching filename to img_name

side note:
if it is one time deal ur done...but if not:
mark those already Imported....
perform find
then import
it will save the time of Import/Match so u dont have to scan all the files
All the best!
