OK, Has anyone used these phones?? We are looking for a solution for our home users with high speed internet to replace our pots service. Any guidence is greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Nick

Yes, download the 9600 R3.101a firmware and update the phones, you will also need a VPN concnetrator/ASA/PIX at the main site for them to connect to. Works well, and the R3.101a seems to have fixed the connectivity issues ("Creating VPN tunnel..." then hanging) with the initial R3.1 release.

VPN concentrator/ASA/PIX is a piece of hardware on your network. Some vendors include: Cisco, Adtran, Juniper, etc.

If you don't know what it is, I wouldn't attempt to install it.

Any Avaya BP would have recommendations on the best solution for your network.

Mitch672,

I am trying to find the 9660 R 3.101a firmware on the Avaya web site and all I see is the 3.1.

Can you assist me to find it?

Thank you.

Mitch672,

Thank you for the 9600 VPN R 3.1 patch information.
