I've been corresponding with Microsoft on-line support for the past week and now will bring my question(s) to you folks. I have a site built in MS Frontpage 2000 and currently hosted on a Unix server with frontpage extensions(remote service).

I am trying to add searchable databases to the site and have generated an asp page with a search bar using the Database Results Wizard within Frontpage. There are a couple of problems I need to resolve. One is that some of the HTML coding is "showing through" the search bar portion of the page -- it is information I recognize being added by the wizard and looks like this:

LastName " size="20">

How can I make this invisible?

Secondly, I have not been able to get this page functional that is, submitting a search does nothing -- the biggest reason is that it is hosted on a unix server that does not support asp. The tech support people at our host assure me that changing to NT hosting would resolve the problem. What do any of you say? What, if any, are some other possible causes of the problem I've described?

I believe your tech support people are right. You need a Microsoft Internet Information Server in order to gain all the benefits of FrontPage 2000. Thats why many people do not like FP. I currently use FP 2000 right now but thinking about switching over to DreamWeaver Ultradev because I have heard it is more robust in connecting databases. This is just what I have heard so take it at face value.
