looking for some that is a printing expert

Have a problem with printing on my 5.2 system
Users are complaining of a delay that is most of the time 15 to 45 sec when sending print jobs we are using a Epson dfx5000+ printer with a ip card in it had a network tech look at the packets being sent out and what he said was that the delay look to be in the rs/6000 he did not see any packets till they said it was printing at remote site. Any help would be great.

Have you tried changing the IP address of the printer in the host file to a printer near you and test it that way?

this is the only printer that we are using ip printing all the rest is done with a systech and reverse telnet. the only reason we are using a ip printer is because we started making some pix to pix vpn tunnels and there was like a 3 to 5 min delay that was random
