I'm creating a new report, and when I click on the "Field List" button and drag a field to the detail section, two controls are placed on the report: a label and a text box. Is there an automatic or easy way to have the label placed in the page header section, and the text box stay in the detail section?

Also, when the label and text box are created in the detail section, they are "linked" to each other. If I move one, then the other one moves too. How can I unlink them? How can I move one without the other?

Any time-saving tips and techniques related to placing a new field on a report would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have an answer to your first question (automatically drop label in header) but I too would like to know if it can be done.

To move the text box and label independently, hover the mouse to the top left of one of them until you see the single finger hand (as opposed to the full hand). Then you can drag one independent of the other. To move the label into the page header, just select the label, ctrl-x to cut, click in the page header and ctrl-v to paste. They'll still be linked so to move one and not the other, you'll still need to use the single finger method.

Thanks - that helped. I appreciate your response.
