hi all

looking for some advice, hope this is the most appropriate forum..

i'm looking for a good application to monitor the uptime of a VPN.

in a nutshell, we have a very basic Watchguard SOHO with several IPsec VPN tunnels. We are having issues with one of them. the Watchguard does not really have any user-friendly logs/status pages etc, and we cannot afford to upgrade.

I need to collate the periods of downtimes so I can go back to the other company - who are much larger, painful to deal with etc.

I have been using the Colasoft Ping Tool to visually monitor the uptime by pinging a remote PC, but it's features are limited, especially graphical over long periods of time. Some kind of alert feature would also be useful.

Does anyone have any advice/recommendations?

thanks

M

I use the Angry IP Scanner ( to look for rouge addresses on my network, don't know how well it would fit your need but it's free to try.

LANguard Network Security Scanner is a very good tool.
