I am new to networking and am looking for some ideas of what Cisco training i should be looking for, and some ideas for on line or CBT material that i should be using. I know that i am about to get deluged but i am looking for some solid recomendations. Thanks
- you can register at the site and then "try" many full length sections for FREE! I have used the A+, Net+ and CCNA CBT Nuggets - they are great when you get tired of reading!
I am not 100% on the new Cisco Requirements for the CCNA, but if I was going to do it again I would:
Purchase Routers and Switches. The investment is quite minimal right now because of the new requirements for the CCNP, which is making allot of useful CCNA equipment cheaper.
I would go with the newest Cisco Press CCNA books.
I would purchase a CCNA lab book to work through labs.
I had purchased a CCNA Virtual Lab to use when I started. It had allot of labs and choices for interfaces and hardware to configure virtually. I think it is very helpful, but as I study for my CCNP i am opting for actual equipment over Virtual software. I also plan to eventually obtain a CCIE so I might as well build my lab now.
