looking for pdf api w/catalog or indexing

Does anyone know of a pdf API out there that has the functionality to catalog or index your pdf's??? I have looked at iText, PDFBox, and PJX, however none of these already support catalogging your docs. Any ideas will help a bunch, thanks!

In iText API, you can actually get the keyword field of a PDF document. If the pdfs are created by you or by others, you can add a category in this field, and then group all of your pdfs by this field.
