a few months ago, I saw a post that linked to a few websites where you could use the host's system and test your website for Safari, Firefox for Mac, etc. Some were paid subscriptions and others were free.

Any idea about either the post or where some of these are

There are a few, one of the free ones is but I think they are having some problems (apparently his airport is dying).

A paid one I have used that has loads of different browsers and versions is It has a free 24hr eveluation which you can sign up for again if you have more han 1 email address.

My opinion on this subject is that it might be cheaper, faster and more efficient to do live tests on a Mac in a Cyber Cafe.

In case your site uses complex Javascript, I doubt screenshots will show you possible bugs.

If it is only for testing the layout appearance, I believe that you don't need to do that since the behaviours of all the main browsers are quite alike on simple code. We are not one the Netscape3.x/4.x era anymore.

Mac mini's are quite inexpensive too and do not take up much space. Or if your looking to get a new PC, you might purchase a new iMac. They can dual boot Windows now and you could switch back for testing as needed. I can not imagine trying to debug JS on a mac w/o one.

these are great! thanks for the help.

I think I will be buying a mac within the next few months, but browsercam.com looks like a great tool!
