Hello,

I could not fsck a filesystem because of BAD SUPERBLOCK. I used an alternate superblock and I could fsck the filesystem. When the filesystem was mounted, all the data inside gone except the "lost+found" directory. Inside the "lost+found" directory are these strange data as listed below.

/local/pcwdata
# cd lost+found
# ls

Please, can someone advise me on what to do to recover my data back?

Rgds,
Princegbenga.

Just out of interest Princegbenga, when you found a BAD SUPERBLOCK, did you use fsck yes to skip around i.e.

fsck -y yourfilesystem
or answer yes

I've had bad superblocks in the past and I'm sure fsck seems to have fixed

Now this is where the fun really begins. Those #???????? files used to be your regulat files on the system. Hopefully you have enough information to identify which files was which so you can move them back where they belong (remember to escape the # when moving or enclose each filename in single quotes).
Otherwise, your looking at a restore from backups.
