Looking for imaging software for HP 2400 scanjet

Does anyone know where i can get hold of the imaging software for a 2400 scanjet HP? The HP website has the whole deal, but it's over 200MB and I truly do not want to spend 21 hours downloading the thing. If it is available in a zipped version on-line, or in component form, this would be ideal.
Alternatively, is there any other software that could be used with this scanner? I need it only for simple activities, scanning a page for editing and printing.

Do you have a friend with high speed internet? Can they d/l it and burn it to CD? (or 256meg flashcard)
