Hey all,
I'm working on connecting our Ericsson MD110 to a Cisco ICS. I'm not sure what card to use in the Ericsson however, I was thinking of using a TLU77/1, but I'm not sure if this is the best choice. We're on BC8, any help that you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I was wondering exactly how one adds a card to the MD110. I know where the card goes, but I'm not sure how to initiate the card into the system. I've done plenty of MD110 administration, but never added a card on my own. I'd really appreciate any help that you are willing to offer.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi SLonge,
There are a few steps required…
1. Insert card & run cable, then Add HW to MD110
2. Ensure appropriate PU’s are on the MD110 (programs)
3. Program Route

I can help with a bit of your question… How to add HW to the MD110…
1. Find a free BPOS with enough Time Slots (24 I think for a TLU77) you might find using CNLIP:LIM=X,DEV=YES; helps a bit.
2. Insert Card and cable. (Note: you will need to use a BPOS such as 1-1-10 or 1-1-20 as they will have 32 Time Slots)
3. CNHUI:BPOS=X-X-XX;
4. Wait a few sec’s then just do a ‘;rtn’ then one more ‘;rtn’ you should get new hardware found and then new hardware updated.
5. CNLIP again to see if the HW is ‘Passive’

Then you can start to do the route programming…

What kind of a hardware is this ICS ? A gateway ? router ? What is the specific ( in Cisco terminology) hardware that the MD will be connected to ??

The ICS is "Integrated Call System" Cisco's new turn key PBX solution. The MD will be connected to a T1 PRI voice interface on this system.

Thanks for all your help!

Steve
