I have a new customer with the QCC ext6700 (the main operator)They would like to have other phones ring when she is at lunch so I tried to add Cover Keys on those phones but got an error in button programming. They use night ring to go to AA and don't want that in day business hours. So what is the right way to handle this?
Thank in advance Gus

you need to make a calling group as backup with the phone in the calling group , then add that CG as the QCC backup

My advise, as always, NEVER USE A QCC, unless you ABSOLUTELY must have the operator answer more than 18 lines.

What you described is just one of the many problems posed by a QCC.

However, if you "inherited" this thing with the QCC, you are stuck with it.

CVRBOB's answer will do it for you, but I still HATE QCC's.

Thank you both for responding. This is the first system I have ever even seen in QCC mode. And because they are a new customer to me I really don't want to tell them I need to reprogram the whole system so I can change the mode it is in.

Okay after reading a little about this QCC backup.

" Programming for Position Busy Backup
Use this procedure to designate or remove the calling group to provide the
backup position for the QCC queue. The specified calling group receives
incoming calls when all QCC operator positions are in position-busy mode.
Position Busy Backup is programmed for the QCC queue rather than for
individual QCC operator positions. The calling group designated as the QCC
queue backup serves as the backup for the Remote Access feature and as
backup when the QCC is being used as the system programming console.
Only one Position Busy Backup can be programmed per system.
Console Procedure Operator®Queued Call®More®QCC
Backup®
Drop®Dial ext. number®Enter or
Delete®Exit®Exit "

Is this where I need to program the system to do what I want?

YES

when the operator needs a break ,she or he hits the position busy ,the calls are then directed to the CG

make sure your phone or phones are logged in to the CG,( set to auto log in )

Thank you again You are the man

Well I thought I understood how to fix it. When I get into programming under Operators I can see two ext's 6700 & 6734
6700 is the main and when I call 6734 no one answers. I tried to remove it but the system wouldn't take it out. I think this is what is now causing my problems. I added the call group turned on auto login made 781 as the backup to QCC. If I touch the busy postion on the front phone the light comes on. When the calls come in the callers hear ringing but no one inside can hear the ringing. I ICM dialed 781 and 2 of the 4 ext's in the backup group started to ring but only 2 of them. I think maybe the second operator is why the group doesn't ring but not sure why not all 4 phones ring when 781 is dialed. I did ICM dial the 2 ext's not ringing to test the ringers and they both worked. I called back on the 781 and tried to answer from the but they didn't answer 781. Any Ideas???

To remove 6734
Operator
positions , QCC
input 6734
Delete
save all,
the system will reboot,

but I would first do a print out of the operators, and look & see what that other operator is for, and where it is in the system

Thank you for all of your help CVRBOB. I did get the ext 6734 out of the group. I found is was a hot jack but had no phone plugged into it. And it still wouldn't ring the group 781. If I called 6700 from inside the system the calls would ring thru to the group but if I called the main number the calls wouldn't ring thru.(wierd) I did end up reprogramming the system and removing QCC and put DLC into effect. And it still wouldn't forward DID call to the group.
However I was able to call forward the ext 6700 to a open SLT port and added it to the overhead paging system as a ring then having the users dial directed call pick up.
