I'm looking for help to configure a laptop with Greenbow VPN client (or any other suggested IPSec clients) to connect to a Linksys WRV54G router. I am trying to make a connection to the router from a remote network. I have read about a lot of problems with this setup with the Linksys but haven't found any real solutions.

Here are some details on the setup I have so far...The router has a static IP address and connected to a high speed internet DSL connection. Internet access works fine from behind the router (private network) I have enabled all the VPN features on the router ready for a VPN client to connect. I have IPSec, PPTP and L2TP passthrough enabled. VPN Tunnel and VPN Gateway enabled. Local secure subnet is set to access all hosts on private network. Remote Secure Group set to Any. Remote Secure Gateway set to Any. 3DES and MD5 encyption and authentication set. Key Encryption Method set to Auto. PFS enabled. Pre-Shared Key set.

The difficulty I'm having is with the laptop and trying to establish a IPSec connection to the router from the laptop on the public side of the network (remote network).

Can someone give me any insight on how to configure the laptop VPN client. Any information would be very helpful.

Thanks !

Joe
