Looking For Good Free Antivirus Program 2

I've just had to spend around £50 for Norton Internet Security 2005 of my PC and it hasn't even removed all the spyware programs (the odd 'Messenger' pop up still occurs)

I'm looking for (ideally) a good free download to install on my kids PC's

Anyone any advice please? Ideally it should remove ads too please

I'd also really appreciate help in getting NIS configured to stop the Messenger pop ups.

Also AVG Free is good

be careful a antivirus is different than a spyware...if pop-up occured, there is spyware or adware in your PC...

try spybot search & destroy, ad-aware or pest patrol..
