Hi All,
I still use foxpro 2.6 at command line to import and manage mail lists.
I'm looking to buy a foxpro based mail list application that will import/merge new lists, track the lists that I do import (so I know if I imported it already), import from excel and let me map new fields not already in database, etc.

Does not actually have to be foxpro, but need something that is fast and will handle million-plus records.
Thank you.
Paul

If you look below in this web page where we enter our replies, it says:

Promoting, selling, recruiting and student posting
are not allowed in the forums.

So our mentioning any product that we are personally affiliated with would be a violation.

However you could easily Google for "mail list" software or something similar and find a number of listings.

Good Luck,

Thank you JRB. I tried that but cannot identify what's valid, ligit stuff written in Foxpro. Also, almost all these are shareware/free download stuff and I'm concerned about viruses. The posting policy you referenced is most likely to deter unsolicited self-promotion. I doubt it's intended for providing references to known products, even if it's your own.

By changing the Google search phrase to:
"mail list" application foxpro
I found quite a few listings.

Admittedly that in today's world most of those were about email list management, but with a small amount of modification, they could most likely handle "snail mail" also.

Good Luck,
JRB-Bldr

I will add that, depending on the complexity of your management needs, developing something like this yourself should be relatively simple.

Good Luck,

Paul,

Given that you have some background in this area, I would have thought you might be better off developing something yourself. Even with FoxPro 2.6, you shouldn't have too much trouble coming up with a system that meets all your requirements.

Just a thought.

Mike

If I had time, and was half decent a programmer, would do it.
