I'm looking for feedback, positive or negative, regarding their performance and service, especially related to their hosted in-network translation.
Our company is currently in the process of making a decision of whether to keep our EDI operations in house with a new software solution or outsource to one of these companies. Because we have a very small IT staff, a complex ERP package to support (EDI support diverts our time away from it), and a growing number of trading partners, we are leaning towards outsourcing and have narrowed the options to the 4 companies mentioned in the title: DataTrans, DIcentral, ICCnet, and Kleinschmidt.
Thus far, our impression is that DataTrans has a relatively simple model, will be easy to work with, but is a higher cost. DIcentral is accomodating and a little cheaper, but I'm not feeling a lot of confidence in communicating with them - they seem to forget some of the details. Kleinschmidt has a good reputation, but they have a pricing sheet 2 pages long and crammed with various charges and formulas that seem to call for a math major to decipher - seems like they'll come out on the high side (but I can't tell!). ICCnet has a very attractive pricing model at our volume level - they are probably the cheapest, but they have pretty set requirements for inbound/outbound formats and have not been as quick to answer questions/submit a proposal as the others.
I have gotten customer references for the above, and thus far, they have all been positive, but that's what I would expect from references - I'd rather hear from people that the vendor has not deliberately selected.
P.S. For those wondering, our current in-house software is DataStage TX (formerly Mercator) along with Trading Partner PC and Cleo Lexicom. We have considered Acom's EZconnect and Softshare's Delta/ECS as replacement packages. Even though we're leaning towards outsourcing, I am interested in any comments you might have on Acom or Softshare and their e-commerce software packages.
Sorry I wrote a book here! Thanks in advance-
Shelley
