Hi

I don't know if I am in the right place but I need to find some code that would enable me to put classified ads on my website. I am not a programmer or a very experienced webmaster :-( so I'm not quite sure whether I need a JavaScript or a CGI programme. It seems to me that some sort of forum setup such as this one would be perfect Hope someone can put me right. Thanks. :-)
Les.

If you are talking about setting up a site with some sort of content management system (that's what this site uses, I'm sure) -- then you aren't talking about a cheap solution.

There is a company called The Media Shoppe ( that has about the best deal for the money, but it's eons cheaper than other such software packages.

If you do a search for "content management" on google or your favorite search engine, that might put you on the right track. Maybe you aren't looking for a complete solution -- if not, then you probably aren't looking at near the cost.

good luck! :-)

If you explain in more detail, exactly what you want, I would be happy to program you a system for your classified adds, for a cheap price ofcourse ;)

If you are talking about a bulletin board type forum then you will need to use CGI/Perl. I am sure you can find some weak JavaScript versions out there but I haven't seen any.

There are many free version of these:

The CGI Resources Index at has all kinds of free or relatively cheap scripts listed in various categories. There must be a classified ads program listed there.
