Hi there,

I am a Systems Admin at a smallish size company (500 users approx). We have a predominantly Win2K Server AD environment and I have been given the rather large project of upgrading our servers/domain controllers to Windows Server 2003 across 6 sites over 3 countries.

I first have to research and investigate all the new features which we could use/implement on our domain (which is a one domain structure).

So my questions are what are the best features of Win 2003 server that you guys use on your networks and what situations do you use them in?

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards
John

Stepping up from WIndows 2000 to 2003 won't give you a whole heck of a lot more in the way of features but you will have a much better scenario where security and performance are related.

One majorly great feature of Windows 2003 however is ShadowCopy. This allows you or your USERS to restore files without having to go to tape. This is HUGE!

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
