Not system specific.
Not looking for stop ship details or product bulletin.
Looking for the procedure manual to replace Media Services Card Field Replacement Unit.
Not correct jdavid99.
The installation guide leaves out the information regarding the process to remove the sys ID from the hard drive.
There is an addendum which I am looking for in soft copy.
It is titled:
Business Communications Manager MSC fru replacement process.
I have tested 5 MSC in the same machine with the same hard drive and they all worked. they all showed there own Systen ID, so I guess 4install is correct.
Yeah the system ID is hard coded on to the MSC card and cannot be changed. This is to stop people buying keycodes for one system and distributing them to other systems.
If you need to reuse keycodes you will need to have a certified Nortel vendor generate new codes. You will need to turn in the old MSC card and install the new codes.
All well and good but I only asked for the soft copy of the msc replacement process. acewarlock good post. Wonder why Nortel bothers to write msc replacement process? Involves telnet session. Hard drive acquires MSC serial number during first boot. Keycodes are re-generated online using Nortel Keycode Retieval System.
