looking for advice on selecting an LDAP server software

Situation, dire as it is :)

Network with no 'Directory' in place, just a PDC of NT4 .
Have available to use: pc running Fedora Core 4

Need: well, to deal with the present situation and at least get an LDAP introduced into the system.

Budget: zippo in money, about 3 hours for time.


Is there anything out there that would help us out? I tried installing openldap-2.2.29 , but it got me lost on how to properly configure the database.
