I guess my real question is.....what is Centrex and DMS 100

I know DMS 100 is a switch....is it a 4 ESS, 5ESS or PBX ?

Also, I have an idea of what Centrex is. But could use further explanation of what exactly it is. is a line format, CPE or ?
