Looking for a solution for Report Page setup

I don't know where to turn any more ... We purchased an Avery 9100 Label Printer which is shared across a Peer Win2k Network (Netbui) ... printing to this label printer is no problem from Word from any machine ... we have an Access 2K app that we want to print labels from so we modified the app and tested it on the PC that has the Printer attached to it ... the moment we try and use that app from any of the peer machines the Page setup has amnesia ... if we set the printer and select the default tray to Avy9170 ( this is the default setting on the printer) and say ok Access closes the Page setup Dialog ... open the dialog up and it is back to Letter as the setting??? Avery Support just responds that we should use word.

We have one machine that is running XP and has 2k3 Office Pro running on it so converted a copy of our 2K app did a compact and repair ... it has the same issue ... created a brand new test app in 2K3 and it also has the same issue.

Has anyone experienced an issue like this and possibly found a resolution? Not sure, but I expect if we were to export a report to a Word template, reporting times might become extremly slow??? Right now this Page setup issue is a show stopper.

Are you printing labels from a mail merge document? You may be able to set up a mail merge and control that through your code (although office 2k3 has some new warnings that make it hard to control mail merges without changing your machine's registry).

This appears to be something to do with Printer SHARING ... the moment I take off the SHARE and do a standalone Page Setup of the Access 2K Report on the machine that has the printer connected to it there is no more issue. The labels are printed properly and the Page setup is remembering the tray selection of Avy9170. When I turn share back on and reselect the network printer as the specific Printer Page setup gets amensia again and goes back to wanting to use letter.

I am going to try and make a linked table Back end application that only runs on the box with the printer attached and see if this will allow me to print properly with minimal delays.
