Hi I need a 30 person phone system with 8 outside lines and voice mail. Could someone please recommend something that won't break the bank? My company is setting up a temporary office that will be connected back to corporate where we use an Avaya Definity SI V12 by a point to point wireless connection. If the new system can interact with the Definity great if not then that's ok too.

Might need a little more info.

Is there any chance that the system would need to grow beyond 30 people?

Would service be strictly TDM or would VoIP be mixed in?

Would the system interconnect with the Definity via a dedicated T1?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

An Avaya IP500 is the best option i could think of, you can even connect your Definity over an IP trunk for internal calling over a VPN network. On the Avaya site there is a dealer locator to find one in you area, or you could call the same people who have installed the Definity.

Greetzzz....Bas

The system could be TDM or VOIP. The only connectivity between the two sites will be line of sight wireless running around 54 Mbps so the only option for connectivity would be IP trunking. This is just a temporary fix until we move to our new building so the system does not need room to grow.

why not just hang IP phones off of your main building? over the wireless.

Can you do QoS over a wireless connection??? Sounds like your going to have sound quality issues.

THere is some wireless that can do QOS and VLANS. I have a customer that has 2 sites connected over 4 miles with wireless he put in himself and has never had an issue. they are just standard cisco access points. if it is just temporary then if there is a little issue with quality of speech they may be able to deal with it. 54M is pretty decent speed. It is alot more than most site to site connections. A Point to Point T1 is only 1.5M and we use them all the time for calls.
