I am supporting a customer that has the receptionist answer all calls and then pages the person who the call was for. Currently she answers 8 lines that way.

Most of the sets are 7208's so there are not enough buttons for all the lines to appear. When a call comes in on line 7 or 8 she parks the call and then pages.

We are in the process of creating a 3 line rotary that will be directly answered by the service department and reducing the main lines to 6.

Is there a better way to config the system rather than buying sets with more buttons.

If someone could point me in the right direction, I don't mind doing the research.

TIA
Doug

Use S.W.C.A. if you are 6.0 or above.

You would think that I'm a salesman the way I promote S.W.C.A. It's just nice for an application like yours.

It's a MICS System, I think version 3 with StarTalk Flash.

The receptionist complains that if she parks 2 calls on 101 and 102 and 101 gets answered. When 102 recalls it changes to 101.

Just confusing for pages.

Thanks

It's actually MICS 2.0

You can change the PARK MODE to CYCLE so that parked calls will go in sequence instead of going back to lowest number.

To answer your first question, you could use ANSWER DN's.
The receptionist would do a CAMP-ON to a certain set instead od parking the call. All other sets would have an ANSWER DN button assigned that corresponds to the CAMP-ON set.
OOPS, JUST VERIFIED THAT CAMP-ON DOES NOT ACTUALLY RING THE SET, IT GIVES A TONE ONLY AND DISPLAY IN THE WINDOW, SO WOULD PROBABLY NOT RING ONTO THE ANSWER DN KEY OF OTHER SETS. SORRY, I WILL DIG DEEPER. I WANT TO VERIFY BEFORE I POST
