I am not very familiar with 3Com equipment, and would like to know if anyone has a cheat-sheet that they can email me with basic commands like
-checking the status of LAN / WAN ports
-finding out how many errors an interface has taken
-finding out the availbility of an interface
-etc

Thanks!

You can always use the menus on a 3-Com router if you do not know the command line instructions. I do not know of a cheat sheet for these commands but the 3-com knowledge base at 3com.com should provide some commands.
The three commands to provide are as follows.
1.Checking the status of ports. me -pa conf or me -sys stat
This will also show you port statistics.
2.me -sys sm will show you a history of what has happened to your WAN/LAN ports
Good luck
P.S. At a command line entering me and hitting enter should bring up the menu.

We have a 3Com Router/Switch, we can acces it via 3Com software that came with the Router or via the serial console port.
This software gives us realtime status of all the ports and the status of the links.

Hope this was of help.
