Looking At IP Office As New System

Greetings All:

We are looking at the IP Office system as one possibility to replace our aging Merlin Legend.

We are doing an expansion of our main office (Will need aprox 100 ext total) and will need the ability to do IP trunking to 10 branch offices in the future (Small Office Edition?), (They presently have Partner ACS's).

We do NOT want to go "pure IP", but rather digital handsets internally. Need VoiceMail(Pro?), SoftConsole for receptionist, AutoAttendent, etc.

Would those of you that have lived with IP Office for a while buy/recommend it again if given the chance to go back in time?

My company has had much success in switching out phone systems that involve a corporate location and many satellite offices. (To date 10 remote locations, of which all went fairly well)

It would be my recommendation to purchase a 412 for the corporate office (to allow for further expansion), and 403's for the remote site's, depending on the amount of extensions and/or lines needed. (Recommend T-1 or PRI if in the budget)

Do you have an existing WAN in place to all remote offices? If so then the inplementation will be a breeze provided you ample bandwidth and QOS capabilities for VoIP traffic.

I have been working with the IP Office for over 3 years now and can honestly say that in the end after all issues have been corrected during the initial installation you will be very impressed with your IP Office network. With that being said, I will let you know of a few issues that do arise during intial installation.

Depending on your implementation and your WAN whether new or old, I seriously recommend that you ask your potential IPO installer to run VoIP tests on the network before installation. This will make you aware of any latency issues as well as give you a warm and fuzzy feeling before you take the plunge to a full blown VoIP network. I have been involved in many installations where the customer did not opt to a network analysis before installation and it caused many issues later. The most common of issues I have ran into have been with IP phones. These issues are easily corrected.

To make a long story short, the IP Office is a great system. You just have to be patient during installation as unforeseen issues always arise.

Go an Alcatel the new handsets looks great... polyphonic ring tones ! hehe

You can't go past all the features for a moderm office on the ip office for the money you pay for it.

As long as you find a good dealer with experience in setting up and giving you advice on how to use these features you can't go wrong.

It has an extensive road map for the future aswell
 
Would I recomend 1?

I spent MY OWN cash & bought 1 for home if that is any help

IPO is a good & flexible system provided the installer knows what he is doing.
It is a simple system to install & configure but somtimes this simplicity is deceptive & leads to sily errors.

 
IP-Office is nice if you got good programmers.
Also got one at home, doing nice tricks, like clip routing so i can open my garage or door with my mobile phone.
Also have voicemail in E-Mail and lots of other nice tricks.

Under the 150 stations its one of my favorid PABX.

Just an FYI, the IP Office 403 no longer exists, they replaced it with the IP Office 406 V2. So basically you get more than the 403, but the price is the same as what the 403 used to be. :)
