hey everyone...I have just completed(well almost) my first paid flash job. Any suggestions before I send it to him? I'm planning on adding a "skip intro" button, but beyond that it's up to him. It's for a website that sells coloured stickers, and although it's a Canadian company he's called it "color stickers"...without the obligatory "u"....anyway, any comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

oh man, that's hillarious....losin' my mind I guess

also, if you get any errors, don't worry, it's just a yahoo/geocities thing...and sorry about the link thingy. I've seen people do that and have wondered "man, how can you be so absent-minded?"..now I know... :)

Interesting!
Does it finish with the "ADD SOME COLOR..."?
Lot of java errors with IE, so don't know if it ends there or not.
You could get rid of the borders and the right scroll bar!
By changing your <body> tag as:
<BODY bgcolor=&quot;#000000&quot; MARGINHEIGHT=&quot;0&quot; MARGINWIDTH=&quot;0&quot; TOPMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; LEFTMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; RIGHTMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; BOTTOMMARGIN=&quot;0&quot; scroll=no>

Yeah it does finish with &quot;add some color to your world&quot;, it's going to be forwarded to a URL at the end, but he hasn't specified yet where exactly. Those errors are caused by me trying to get away from the geocities pop-up adds. I really like your idea of getting rid of the the borders though. Any other thoughts on the whole?...I would even appreciate an &quot;it's not very good at all, because...&quot; anything that can help me grow can't be a bad thing. thanks for your time and feedback, Old.

Fantastic!!

LOL just gave the sleeping wife a heart attack with the thunder!

Great work adam, is that a self-portrait? Th eonly 2 things (minor) that I would mention is:

1: there's a pause between &quot;...in a Black & White&quot; and &quot;World&quot; which I think would be better if it were more fluent between the two.

2. the quality of the imported 'earth' gif at the end, the edges are very ragged, takes away from the smooth outlines which preceded it.

Excellent work though. Nice one mate.

Wow! That's great news to hear it met your standards. I will look for another .gif, and fix the pause. I do have one question though, when I imported that gif(my first time trying to do so) it put it automatically in the frame I was working on, but up in the top-left corner. When I deleted it and then tried to put it in the frame I wanted it in, and in the right place, it only put the first gif-frame in so there was no animation--the whole thing would not loop, and hence, the earth stopped spinning. I had to re-do it and then change the next gif-frame at every keyframe to match the xy coordinates I wanted...does that make sense to you?..any suggestions?

Thanks a whole bunch for your feedback, and also takin' to time to check it out.

Adam

p.s. tell the wife I'm sorry for her heart :-X , and no it's not a self-portrait, my jeans don't have those rips ;-)

LOL nice one!

RE: the gif
It was probably still resident in the Library, hence the problems you mentioned.

If you have this problem again just click on the 'edit multiple frames' icon just under the timeline, than select 'onion all' from the icon to the right of that. Then you'll be able to move all your gifs in one go by selecting dragging round them with the Ctrl+V arrow tool. Likewise, if you need to realign them (Ctrl+K).

One other thing before I forget. I'm on a really slow connection and at first I thought your file size was huge because there were a couple of very long pauses. Is this because your using a _framesloaded preloader? If so, and if you are using/have access to F5 I would suggest a 'getbytesloaded' preloader as it gives a more indicative measure of download.

thank you sooooo much , Dave. I will check out ALL of these things..including the &quot;onion&quot; thing I've heard you guys mention before. I do have flash 5, but I made this in flash 4. I will see what info I can find on a 'getbytesloaded' preloader...sounds nifty. Thanks a million. This was actually my first attempt at any kind of preloader, but it's soooo hard to see how it looks to other people. I appreciate it :)

Adam

see the FAQ section for the getbytes preloader, I'm just updating the links at the minute, so if you can't download the examples, just e-mail me and I'll send it on to you.
