First, thanks for all the great tips -- I've learned a lot reading though many of these threads.
I'm hoping I'm just having a mental block and this is an easy issue, so I won't detail all the elements at play.

Specifically, I'm modifying an existing report that is a statement of an employee's name, address, employee id [empid] (all these fields are on a master table, but exported to the report via various queries), plus sub report which displays that employee's submitted and sold leads (stored and calculated in various tables and queries). What I need to add in the main report is the location code for the employee (next to the empid). The location code is a look-up field in the master table. In the report, it is showing up as a look-up/drop down menu.

How do I get this to show the value, rather than as a selection?

Is more information needed?
Many, many thanks.

In the report design, right click on the lookup field and on the popup menu, click the 'Change To' option, and change it to a text field.

This may do the trick. If the combo box is multi columned however, it may require a bit more handling. If this is the case, re-post and we'll walk you through it.

Hi, Steve,

Thank you for jumping in to help me with this. I changed to "text" as you suggested, but the field is blank on the reports. As you suggested, the lookup in the table shows 2 columns but records 1 (i.e., the one I need to display on the report).

I REALLY welcome additional help with this (you have NO idea!). Thanks!

Hi Lynne,

Hi may have given you the wrong advise basede on my understanding of the problem. Can you revert back to the original settings for the report control; then right click on it, and change the setting to Combo; I think from your description that its displaying as a list box. Since a combo box only shows one value, this should address the problem. You may then have to resize the control to make it shorter, and align with other controls in the line.

Let me know how you go.

Hi, Steve,

Unfortunately, it's not offering me the option of changing to a combo box. When I try to run the report, I'm getting a parameter query...there isn't one written in the query the report draws from...I'll hunt and see if I can track one down.

Again, THANK YOU for your help!
Lynne
