Look up data in another table and fill in field

I have table A, with the fields; part#, description, ship date, customer etc etc.
Table B is a master list of part numbers with descriptions of the part.
When a new record is added to Table A, and the part# is entered, how can I get the description field to look up the approriate description for that part# in table B and fill in the field in table A?
