Long Word save time

I have a user who, when saving changes in an existing Word document to our server, experiences a long save time (about 15 seconds) during which his computer won't do anything else.<br>

After saving, everything else works normally. he's using NT4 sp4 and Office 97 SR2.<br>

Any assistance here would be appreciated.

Is it just saving he has a problem with? We had a similar problem with saving, but also printing. Whenever he printed anything, it would slow his machine down to a crawl.<br>

As a matter of interest, when was the hard drive last defragmented? Whenever we did that it did run better, but not solve the problem.
