In our project there is a module that is supposed to send faxes by reading the appropriate data from DB and to prepare Lotus Notes documents. These documents are handled by Lotus Domino and there is no problem.

The problem is,when our clients enter a huge range . eg. the dates between 01/02/2002--28/02/2002 there are more than 500 faxes to be sent and naturally it takes a reasonable time.

I wonder if there is a way to make the server go on this long transaction even clients close their browsers or continue working in different modules

If it is possible it will be a very clever, effective project.
Is it possible if so pls guide me.
Thank you.

Classic case to use asynchronous messaging. In Java this is accomplished by JMS. Send the message to a back-end process and have it actually do the faxing. Now the Client is freed to do whatever else.

That's what I was thinking.I will try JMS.When the reest transaction ends the server can reach the client.Thank you very much. Salih Sipahi
