I have 2 subreports which are displaying the data based on the GH1a value in main report. And sub reports are placed in GH1b and GH1c.

For some of GH1a value 2nd sub report is 2 or 3 pages long. In such cases i could see GH1a and GH1b together in say first page but GH1c starts from second page.

I tried creating running count on detail section of subreport 2 which changes on grouping with in the subreport and tried to restrict to show only 15 records in page hoping that this will bring the report to first page. But it didn't.

Any Idea to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated.

It might be because the subreport is set to keep itself together. From design mode right click on the subreport and select format subreport. Make sure keep object together is not checked.

I wonder what you are looking for for your final display? You might try to make use of the "underlay following section" in the section expert.

From the design point Main report and sub reports have only one common link and rest all are many to many linkage.
Main reason for using sub report is because there is a requirement to display subreports side by side in section to make it to look like a single table

I have verified keep together in group and section, and it is unchecked.

Also I have tried to used "Underlay follwing section". But it looks like problem with subreport which is more than page of data for one group value in main report.

I was not talking about keep together on the group and section. I was talking about keep object together on the subreport.

If you want them to display side by side, then the underlay following section should work. But why not place just place them in the same section?

If you want to limit the number of records in each sub, you should be able to insert a running total that counts each record and then in the section expert->suppress->x+2:

{#rt} > 15

Thanks TeyBrady.

That was exactly what i was looking for.

I got a star. :)

I'm glad that fixed your problem. That setting is kind of hidden within the GUI. It seems like that is often the case with these GUI applications. You can never really see all of the code without looking everywhere. Finding everywhere can be difficult.
