In a galaxy far far away, there was the older Alchemy E Console and BlF apps, if you run the apps with a user who doesnt have admin rights they run as an unregistered evaluation version and wont save settings on shutdown, run when the user has admin rights and they do save and dont get unregistered message, anyway around this without giving the user full admin

I this the same era i experienced when the software upgrades came every week and a lot of things did not work?
Good ol' times are back!

TIP:
Accessing some sw levels of IPO via serial cable and type :
at debug
In some versions ( special the special builds ) you can change settings wich are not possible through manager

Again a tip:
If you want to downgrade a IPO from 412 to 406 or 403 then you cannot use the config, manager refuses to send the config to a smaller IPO.
Open the config offline, export it as text and change the type of IPO and the MAC Address in the CSV textfile.
Cards in slots not supported must be deleted.
Then import this CSV file into your smaller IPO and voila, the downgrade is done.

I found a way to access a IP Office without knowing the password and not having a backup, unfortunally i cannot share this one with you, my relation with Avaya is to precious for me. But : read the specs of tftp and play around with it, it's easier as you might think.

The WOC/BLF-problem.

The settings are stored in the registry. With regedt32 it is possible to change permissions on the individual folders. Find the folder related to the applications, and set the permissions right.

Give it a go.

Nevertheless, the registry is always interestin to explore but beware if you do not know ahat you're doing!
