Long load time

Hello, SQL2008R2

When I am using SSMS and in Object Explorer Details, I drill down to stored procedures, it is now taking a few seconds to start populating the window. In fact there is a progress bar that appears. This has always been very quick.

Where should I start looking for as the cause? This is only happening on the production server. The development

Can you rule out its your installation, run from another user management studio. Can you monitor what is happening on the server? Do you have any code that shows what is running. We use a version of whoisactive adam machanic, this allows us to view what is running and will show if anything is blocking. Does sp_help hang also?

Thank you for the reply. sp_help seems to go well. If has not been so bad lately.

I do monitor the server. Other than being very under powered, thing are well there.
