Long Distance problem from Switchy??

The answer to the Long Distance Problem between two carriers?

The picking tables were corrupt, this now sits in the hands of the long distance
carriers.

Does anyone know what a picking table actually does and provide me with some info on it?
Is there anything I can do from my standpoint? TESTing?

decides were to send the call, strips the area code and routes it to the next office. if it's a tandam office it also adds a routing code.. the receive office strips the exchange code and send the last four (or more) to the local office. sorta just like a big switch with analog stations
